| Puppy Kindergarten FAQ Puppy Kindergarten starting June 8! How old does my puppy have to be to enroll in PK? The program is best suited for dogs 8 - 16 weeks old. The program is also open to older dogs who are very shy. Why PK? Socialization! The puppy stage is a critical stage in your dog's life for socialization. If missed, your dog may have a difficult time adjusting to your lifestyle, especially if it involves other people and animals. Will my puppy get one-on-one time? Yes! Each puppy will get atleast 30 minutes of one-on-one interaction with a Dogtown employee. Plus, class size is limited to 10 puppies so there is plenty of supervision and interaction all day long. How is PK different from daycare? In PK we spend the whole day working with the puppies in a separate group from the daycare dogs. In PK the day is 40% socialization, 40% learning, and 20% resting. What commands will my puppy learn in PK? We will work on come, sit, and stay. We will also play fetch. What else will my puppy learn? We will work on name recognition, potty-training, leash-training, and crate-training. Socialization time will help teach your puppy how to approach and play with other dogs and humans. We will also help your puppy get accustomed to strange noises. When is PK? PK is on Mondays 9am-4pm. Owners can drop-off as early as 7am and pick-up by 6pm. Puppies are welcome to come other days of the week for daycare. How long is a PK session? Each session is 8 weeks long. The first session will start June 8, but admissions are rolling. How much does a session cost? $320, or $40 per day (Remember this is a FULL day of socialization and learning with one-on-one time). What vaccinations are required? Puppy boosters (DHPP or DA2PP) are required. How do I sign up or ask more questions? Call us at 252-DOGS or fill in the form below.
